I recall a quiz program during college where I was asked
"Name four Piece of Monuments which best represents Islamic Architecture of India".
Besides, Taj, Qutub ... I named Charminar and GolGombuz ..... It was a correct answer
Since then Bijapur was in my mind and finally, it happened ... a visit to the land of Adil Shahs
who had the might and courage to ward off Mughal invasions for a long time in central India...
and left behind some wonderful piece of monuments ...

Entered the GolGombuz area ...The reception building (now a museum) is in such a place looks as if it has a dome of its own
Wishpering Galleries. Any whisper, clap or sound gets echoed 9 times (11 times with fading) and creates an ideal stereophonic stage. Even the smallest whisper amplifies and is clearly heard at the diagonally opposite side of the dome.
Upli Buruj Built around 1584, by Hyder Khan, its a 80 feet high watch tower with winding steps. On top it has two massive cannons.
