Bijapur ! Land of Adil Shahs

Jyoti Prakash Bhattacharjee

I recall a quiz program during college where I was asked

"Name four Piece of Monuments which best represents Islamic Architecture of India".

Besides, Taj, Qutub ... I named Charminar and GolGombuz ..... It was a correct answer
Since then Bijapur was in my mind and finally, it happened ... a visit to the land of Adil Shahs

who had the might and courage to ward off Mughal invasions for a long time in central India...

and left behind some wonderful piece of monuments ...
